5 Quick Tips for Terrarium Care
Terrariums are delicate ecosystems, and it is important to take care of them so that they can thrive. Here are five tips to help you care for your terrarium:
1. Location, location, location.
Your terrarium should be in a spot that gets indirect sunlight. If it’s in direct sunlight, the plants will scorch and the soil will dry out too quickly.
2. Create drainage.
You need to make sure there is adequate drainage in your terrarium. The plants will rot if the roots are sitting in water.
3. Choose the right plants.
Terrariums are a great way to showcase small, slow-growing plants. Some of our favourites include ferns, mosses, and air plants. Visit our Terrarium Plant Library for some ideas.
4. Don’t overwater.
Terrariums require moisture, but not too much! Regular misting is generally a more effective way to keep your terrarium thriving. Only water when there are no signs of condensation.
5. Keep it clean.
Terrariums can be susceptible to mold and mildew, so it’s important to keep the glass clean. Wipe it down with a damp cloth every few weeks.
