Jewel Orchids are not only an excellent indoor house plant, they make for great terrarium plants too. These somewhat rare (although increasingly becoming readily available) Orchids are an excellent addition to terrariums when cared for correctly.

Flower: Single flower. Each individual flower will last up to ten days, with the overall flowering lasting up to five weeks.
How to grow and care for Jewel Orchids in Terrariums
Jewel Orchids work particularly well in open terrariums, as the base of the plant can be kept in the right conditions while the flowering stem is able to climb upwards. A soil base of coco fibre is generally a good choice, with layers of sand, sphagnum moss and some perlite or pebbles and stones to improve drainage.
